Dutch Government Taps Augmented Reality Technology to Encourage Citizens to Get Involved
Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:28AM The Dutch government hopes by showing citizens what they look like when they stand by and do nothing when public service workers are attacked -- which is a serious and frequent occurrence -- it will encourage them to get involved if they encounter such violence and aggression.
As a public service, an interactive billboard captures real-time bystanders on the street and splices them into a video of a violent confrontation. They can see a bird's eye view of what they look like when they do not get involved and offer help.
Do you think this tactic will work?
