Northern Arizona University Installs RFID System to Encourage Attendance
Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 1:04PM
Northern Arizona University hopes to encourage students to attend classes by installing an electronic RFID system that detects student ID cards for some of the larger classrooms. The system will produce an attendance report for the instructor, reports 12 News Arizona.
The goal is to reduce the number of students who miss class, fall behind and drop out of school, but students are protesting the system, saying the measure is going too far.
