The Emotion-detecting Ice Cream Machine

At the Cannes Film Festival today, Unilever unveiled an ice cream vending machine that is truly for the digital age. Called "Share Happy," it employs computer vision to sense when people are near.

Using facial recognition technology, it can even determine your age, gender and current emotion. Share Happy uses an interactive "smile-o-meter" to rate smiles. Of course, people with the biggest smiles are rewarded with free ice cream.
