Hulu's 'Face Match' Puts Facial Recognition to Work for Viewers

In our modern digital age, an overwhelming amount of information is right at our fingertips. Apparently for Hulu, though, that's not close enough.
Enter Face Match, Hulu's new facial recognition feature that gives viewers instant access to information about actors in shows like Lost, The Office, Wilfred and Modern Family. Can't remember John Krasinski's former roles? Face Match will serve that info up for you, quicker than an IMDB search can.
According to Hulu's blog, Face Match is an opt-in feature that can tell you more about the actors in a video the instant they appear. All you do is hover the mouse over a character’s face; the video will pause to tell you a little bit more about the actor, including his or her name, former roles and quick bio. For some actors, their Facebook and Twitter accounts will even be linked.
Although Face Match is still a work in progress, Hulu plans to roll it out to all shows eventually. In the meantime, opt in by following these steps:
Select the config button in the lower right corner of the video player while watching any show or clip. If Hulu Face Match is available for the video you’re watching, there will be an option to turn the feature on. You can also modify your default setting for Hulu Face Match on your personal settings page.
