New Amendment Says TSA Can't See You Naked
Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 2:43PM
We can all rest a little easier now: The TSA will probably never see our junk again. (Unless we give them cause to do a strip-search.)
Yesterday, the House Subcommittee on Transportation Security unanimously approved an amendment that will end the "naked" full-body images that result from the use of advanced imaging technology at U.S. airports.
Instead, airports will begin using software that creates a generic human-like figure. If a traveler has a suspicious item on his or her body, it shows up as a red box on a specific area of a stick figure outline.
Finally, the government has listened to passengers. Up to a point.
