Implanted Bombs: The Next Big Air Security Threat?

Forget shoe bombs, underwear explosives and the threat of volatile liquids. The next airport security threat may be much more sci-fi than we all imagined.
The U.S. government has warned airlines that terrorists are considering a new way to smuggle explosives onto planes: by surgically implanting them into people.
Officials have stressed that this isn’t a warning about a known plot—just a possible trend. However, the possibility could once again change airport security scanning techniques, since existing technology doesn’t necessarily detect explosives implanted under a passenger’s skin.
