Out of Milk? Just Stop by the Virtual Supermarket
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 11:08AM Tesco, a leading supermarket chain in South Korea, wants customers to be able to shop from anywhere--even during their subway ride home.
Now, certain subway stations in Seoul feature a virtual Tesco store. Images of meat, produce and packaged goods are displayed exactly as they are in the real supermarket.
To order a particular item, a customer scans the desired product with a smartphone, and it appears in their online cart. The company promises that the selected products will be delivered to their door right after they get home.
