Incredible Video: Robot Recognizes Itself in a Mirror
Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:28AM "Oh, this is me. Nice."
So says Qbo, an adorable robot created by Thecorpora, as it recognizes itself in the mirror for the first time.
According to the company's Qbo blog, the "quite simple experiment touches interesting psychological aspects of self-consciousness." After all, only humans and a select number of animals are self-aware enough to recognize themselves in a mirror.
And, isn't self-awareness a major milestone of the Singularity? If Qbo weren't so cute, I'd be scared.

Thank you for just completely gutting my humanity. It was the last thing I had left.
I saw a woman blow smoke rings from her vagina in Thailand. Let's see your robot do that.
But why would they make robots with vaginas?
Never mind, I worked it out ;p
The robot just stored information about an image and assigned to it the label 'Me'. I don't think that qualifies as self-awareness. Still, that's pretty cool.
Obviously, not a female robot. Would have turned around, wiggled to study her bum and then ask about its size with a slightly menacing undertone…
This information is really nice. This type of post is attracting people to read. Thank you for sharing................
