Google's 'Places' to Take StreetView a Step Further

The image above is reportedly a Google employee photographing the inside of a New York City store as part of the Google Places pilot project. Moving beyond the StreetView function, Google is heading indoors to show Internet users actual stores and restaurants.
At first blush, privacy advocates may be up in arms. But as the video below indicates, it seems Google Places is more of an opt-in marketing tool than anything else.
