TSA Employees Scuffle Over Full-body Scans
Friday, May 7, 2010 at 12:46PM
PD-USGOV-DHSMillimeter-wave and backscatter imaging scanners have been controversial since TSA starting using them in U.S. airports a few years ago. But I wouldn't have thought the agency's own employees would get so riled up about it.
CNN.com reports that a TSA employee at Miami International Airport has been arrested for assaulting a co-worker who repeatedly made fun of the size of his genitals. Apparently the ridicule started after the man underwent a full-body scan during a TSA training exercise.
Not surprisingly, privacy advocates are saying the incident proves that full-body scans are simply too controversial for practical use ... especially if TSA employees can't even take what they're dishing out.
