Check out the 3-D Camera Prototype

Fondazione Bruno Kessler's prototype 3-D camera illuminates a scene with ultra-short laser light pulses (a few billionths of a second) that hit the subjects being photographed. The images are then detected by a sophisticated CMOS microsensor, capable of computing the distance of the various subjects, thereby producing a 3-D image.
