The World's Largest Photograph
Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11:26AM
Talk about high resolution: Today photographer Gerald Donovan announced that he's taken the world's largest photograph, at a whopping 45 gigapixels. The panoramic landscape of Dubai would be the size of 1,200 billboards if it were printed.
The amazing zoomable image is an incredibly detailed composite of 4,250 individual shots. They were captured over a period of three hours using a Canon camera mounted to a robotic device much like that found on NASA's Mars rovers.
Explore the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, or zoom in on individual people at street level. As you can see, the future of photography is incredibly detailed.

It is Dubai....people left acres of there cars at the airport to leave.
Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
