Number of Lawsuits Against TSA Grows
Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:20AM
Two Harvard Law School students have filed a lawsuit against the Transportation Security Administration, claiming that its new advanced imaging technology scanners and enhanced pat-downs are unconstitutional.
More specifically, the pair claims that the methods violate American's Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures. The two frequent air travelers want to stop TSA from using either method without “reasonable suspicion or probable cause.”
The Harvard lawsuit is just the latest in a series of suits against TSA regarding AIT and the enhanced pat-downs. Will this fight go all the way to the Supreme Court some day?
